Creamy Watermelon Salad

Creamy Watermelon Salad

This creamy watermelon salad is a real summer favorite! Ultra-fresh, light, and full of contrasting flavors, it combines the sweetness of melon, the creaminess of Macedonian feta cheese, and the crunchiness of roasted sesame seeds. Perfect as a sophisticated starter or as a side dish for a barbecue, it takes just 10 minutes to prepare.

This watermelon salad is officially my favorite! You absolutely need Macedonian-style feta (sold under the Doric brand at Adonis) – it’s super creamy and forms the base of the creamy dressing. I add toasted sesame seeds and the combination of these three flavors is incredible.

Why make this recipe?

  • Quick and easy: ready in just 10 minutes, no cooking required.
  • Fresh and summery: perfect for hot summer days.
  • Flavor contrast: irresistible sweet-and-salty combination of watermelon and feta.
  • Nutritious and light: rich in water, minerals, and healthy fats.
  • Versatile: ideal as a side dish or a light main course.

Tips for a perfect recipe:

  • Use a ripe, very fresh watermelon to maximize flavor.
  • Macedonian feta (Doric at Adonis) is essential: its creamy texture forms the base of the dressing. A drier feta won’t give the same result.
  • You can replace the mint with Thai basil for a more aromatic twist.
  • Add some roasted cashews or chopped pistachios for extra crunch.

For an even more flavorful version, drizzle with a little honey or add a touch of fresh chili.
