Salade de tomates et feta

Tomato and Feta Salad

Serves 4

Ingredients :

 

  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • 1 teaspoon zaatar or dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 large heirloom tomatoes, cut into 6 wedges
  • Approximately 100g feta cheese
  • 8-10 fresh oregano leaves
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves

Preparation : 

  1. In a small bowl, combine the thinly sliced onion, white wine vinegar, and sugar. Stir well and let it sit on the counter for at least 15 minutes.

  2. In a large bowl, add the sumac, zaatar, salt, pepper, and red wine vinegar. Add the tomatoes and toss well. Set aside.

  3. Assemble the salad by placing the tomatoes on a plate. Sprinkle with pieces of feta, marinated onions, and the oregano and basil leaves. Serve immediately.
